Membership - Akron Grace E. C. Church

You are invited to become part of Grace Church's family:

Visit. We'll try our best to make you feel at home.

Be a regular attendee. You will always be more than a "sometimer." You will be family.

Become a member.

Each Member:

Is included in Grace E.C.'s church directory.

Receives a mail slot for in-church communication.

Receives offering envelopes.

Attends and participates in congregational meetings.

Assists in the selection of our leadership teams.

Has the opportunity to serve on one of our leadership teams.

Conditions Of Membership:

Provides testimony of a personal salvation experience in Jesus Christ and a desire to accept Him as Lord.

Shows interest and sincerity in Grace Church by regular attendance in worship services for at least three months prior to the application for membership.

Is recommended to the Ministry Council for approval by the pastor (after consultation with the pastor).

Is received as a member in one of the following ways:

Profession of Faith: Take instruction in the Faith and Practice of the Evangelical Congregational Church and participate in the ritual of membership in a public worship service.
Letter of Transfer from another E.C. church: A person may be received from another Evangelical Congregational church upon presentation of a letter of transfer as a member of good standing from that church. The person will re-state the ritual of membership in a public worship service.
Letter of Transfer from another denomination: A person may be received from another denomination by presentation of a letter of transfer as a member in good standing from that church. The person must take instruction in the Faith and Practice of the Evangelical Congregational Church and participate in the ritual of membership in a public worship service.
